S R Energies Clean Energy. Smarter Future.
For homes & housing societies

Your roof already gets the sunlight. It may as well pay your bill.

A grid-tied rooftop solar plant runs your home on daylight and exports what you do not use, so your Torrent Power bill falls. The Government of India pays a large part of the cost directly into your bank account, and we handle every form in between.

PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana

The government pays a large share of your system

Under the central scheme, subsidy is credited directly to the beneficiary's bank account after installation and successful net-meter commissioning. It is not adjusted against our invoice, and it is not something we hold.

System capacityCentral subsidy
1 kW₹30,000
2 kW₹60,000
3 kW and above₹78,000 (scheme maximum for a household)
Group housing society / RWA common facilities₹18,000 per kW, as per scheme limits

Subsidy amounts are as per PM Surya Ghar guidelines prevailing on the date of application and are released by the Central Government (MNRE), normally within 30-60 days of installation, DISCOM inspection and successful net-meter commissioning. We provide complete application and claim assistance, but the sanction and disbursement are the Government's decision, not ours - and we will never tell you otherwise to close a sale.

Indicative sizing

Roughly what size do you need?

In Ahmedabad conditions, one kilowatt of rooftop solar generates about four units a day - close to 120 units a month. Use the table as a starting point, then send us your bill for a real assessment.

Monthly consumption Typical size Approx. generation Shadow-free area
Up to 150 units1 kW~120 units / month~10 sq.m.
150 - 300 units2 kW~240 units / month~20 sq.m.
300 - 450 units3 kW~360 units / month~30 sq.m.
450 units and above4 - 5 kW~480 - 600 units / month~40 - 50 sq.m.

Indicative only. Actual generation varies with weather, shading, roof orientation, tilt and grid availability. Final capacity also depends on your sanctioned load and DISCOM approval - which is exactly what the free assessment checks.

Scope of supply

What is included in the price

One all-inclusive figure. No line items appearing later.

01

The plant itself

MNRE / ALMM-approved N-type TOPCon modules, ISI-standard grid-tied inverter, DC and AC cabling, ACDB and DCDB, earthing kit and lightning arrester - all sized to the designed capacity.

02

Elevated GI structure

Hot-dip galvanised double-pipe structure at 60-80 micron, raised above the terrace so the space underneath stays completely usable. Limited civil work for the foundation included.

03

Net meter & DISCOM work

Solar net meter charges, DISCOM agreement, isolation MCB and franking - included, provided the existing meter location is retained.

04

All the paperwork

National portal registration, DISCOM application, feasibility, net-metering agreement and the complete subsidy claim - prepared and filed by us.

05

Monitoring

Wi-Fi based online generation monitoring, so you can see daily and monthly output on your phone and spot a problem before your bill does.

06

Five years of service

Five years of free operation and maintenance against manufacturing defect, alongside the manufacturer warranties on modules, inverter and structure.

Warranty

What is covered, and for how long

Solar modules12 years product warranty / 30 years performance warranty, as per manufacturer
Inverter5 years standard warranty against manufacturing defect, as per manufacturer
Mounting structure5 years against rusting and corrosion under normal conditions
System & workmanship5 years free service and maintenance support from us

Warranty does not cover fire, lightning, storm, theft, physical or accidental damage, negligence or unauthorised handling. We recommend insuring the plant - most home insurance policies can be extended to cover it cheaply.

Before you start

Documents you will need

Keep these ready and the application moves quickly.

  • Latest electricity bill
  • PAN card copy
  • Aadhaar card copy
  • Cancelled cheque or bank passbook front page
  • Passport size photograph
  • Society NOC or terrace rights agreement

The bank details matter more than people expect - the subsidy is credited to that account, so the name must match the consumer on the electricity bill.

Questions we get asked

Straight answers

Will I still get an electricity bill?

Yes. A grid-tied system offsets consumption rather than disconnecting you. Your bill shows what you imported from the grid, minus what your plant exported. Fixed charges and duties continue to apply. Most homes see the energy component fall substantially, not the whole bill go to zero - anyone promising a zero bill is selling, not calculating.

Does it work during a power cut?

No. A grid-tied plant shuts down when the grid is down - this is a mandatory safety feature that protects linemen working on the network. If you need backup during outages, you need a hybrid system with batteries, which we can also design.

Can I still use my terrace?

Yes. We install an elevated hot-dip galvanised structure as standard, so the plant sits above head height and the terrace below stays usable for drying clothes, walking or storage. The panels also shade the slab, which keeps the floor below cooler.

How long does the whole thing take?

We commit to 60 days from the terrace agreement, subject to DISCOM approval, material availability and site readiness. In practice the installation itself takes a few days - most of the calendar time is DISCOM processing and net-meter inspection, which is why we handle those directly rather than leaving them to you.

What maintenance does it need?

Cleaning, mainly. Dust on the modules is the single biggest cause of lost generation in Ahmedabad - a wash every two to four weeks in dry months makes a measurable difference. Beyond that, we cover five years of free O&M against manufacturing defect, and the monitoring app tells us if output drops before you notice it.

What if the subsidy is delayed or rejected?

Subsidy is sanctioned and disbursed by the Government, normally 30-60 days after commissioning and inspection. We prepare and file the claim correctly and follow it up, but we cannot control the timeline and we will not pretend otherwise. Your payment schedule with us is separate from the subsidy - we do not adjust it against our invoice.
